The grant is made up of three components. Eligible homeowners switching from fossil fuels can access all three, up to €12,500 in total.
To qualify for the full €12,500 grant, your home and heating situation must meet the following criteria.
Your home must have been built and occupied before 2021. New builds do not qualify for this grant.
The renewable heat bonus applies when switching from oil, gas, solid fuel or electric storage heating.
Work must be carried out by an SEAI-registered contractor. Nutherm is fully registered and handles all compliance requirements.
No, the SEAI retrofit grant applies to existing homes built and occupied before 2021 only. New builds have separate energy efficiency requirements under building regulations. Nutherm can advise on the best solution for your new build.
If you're replacing an existing heat pump that was not previously grant-aided, you may be eligible for up to €6,500. The renewable heat bonus and central heating upgrade components do not apply in this case.
Not necessarily. Stiebel Eltron heat pumps operate at 75°C flow temperature, fully compatible with most existing radiator systems. We confirm compatibility during your free home visit.
Once SEAI have approved your application the upgrade work can begin. The electrical guidelines and any civil works guidelines are prepared and presented to the customer. The list of materials is drawn up and made available for work to begin so as to ensure no delays are encountered when our installers start.A typical retrofit takes our trained installers 2 to 4 days to complete.
